We could do that too, but it gets awfully warm with the sun beating down
on the house, warming it up. The new rage in building here is to build
steep, tall roofs for the heat to rise off of the ceiling insulation.
Look at your map and you'll see that I get more sun exposure per day than
you do in California. People actually plant trees in the summer sun's arc
to help keep their houses cool.
