Think Fido (Arf! Arf!) Net and Tic (Tick) files which usually accompany
incoming files like parisites through file echoes.  The Tic file is a small
file that tags along that identifies the name of the file, the file echo it
is coming from, and the address it is destined for.

That's about it, by way of brief descriptions.
