I got a carry permit myself, so I wouldn't get busted. I don't even
consider it "permission," but more like a bribe. In a place like Mexico,
you just pay the cops off when they catch you. You can even "bargan" over
the price of the bribe, just like buying something at the market.
However, here in Texas, our government employees are more sophisticated.
You pay your bribes up front, directly to the state police. Though I'm
glad we finally have a permit system, the article I posted is quite true.
We need to not lose sight of that, just because we get by on bribes. Its
time we work to change it to "no permit necessary." This is the way it
should be in all states, not a nationwide CHL.
