hey there, from here down on the coast, east coast that is!!! here is a super 
easy way to do the batteries safe!!! go to your local auto store and buy some 
1156 bulbs, wire them up to a harness to match your pack, should have at 
least six bulbs to do it right. put your digital volt meter in the line and 
plug it to your batteries. when the volt meter shows about .75v per cell, 
take the bulbs off, let the pack cool then charge away. dischargers on those 
cheapoo chargers are first class junk. get yourself a good all round charger, 
like an astroflight 115, it will do 4-9 cells and has adj current, plus it's 
relativly cheap
