How are phones cloned?
By unlawfully changing their electronic serial number to that of
a phone which is activated on a cellular netowkr so the altered
phone can make phone calls trying to look to the network like the
phone which is activated.
Your next question is probably gee how do they do that.
But discussion of how a phone is cloned are not permitted in the
fidonet cellular conference.
You could try the fidonet cellular-II conference as it permits
discussion of how phones are cloned.
Some cellular networks provide the ability for the switch to have
more than one e.s.n. registered for a given telephone number. If
it does and the cellular subscriber has aranged for this, fine.
But some cellular carriers do not offer this service and since
cellular is de-regulated in many states, if you don't like it and
cannot convince the cellular carrier to offer it, there is very
little you can do.
