Hi Jeannelou,
JT> I too do needle work, but mostly on the fly. It is so handy
JT> because it is transportable. Many of my other crafts require; spread
I usually have a project in a zip lock bag that I can grab; yes, it is
one of the most portable crafts I can do. Most of the time it's a cross
stitch project since they seem to be the neatest.
JT> out space, steady surface, or sloppy supplies. Those don't transport
JT> worth spit. I use almost all possible craft supplies, so i get lots
I know what you mean; I'm waiting for the day when I can set up a table
somewhere and keep my painting stuff out. Right now it's more of a pain
to get it out and have to put it away every time I need to stop.
JT> at the yard sales, since sooner or later i will use most anything.
I think we all hit up yard sales, flea markets, thrift shops or wherever
we ccan for supplies. I have to go thru mine every so often and decide
if I'm really going to use it or not; we have to make weight quotas when
we move. But, most anything related to sewing or stitching is kept.
JT> I haven't been doing much crafts since Christmas, just lazing
JT> around.
I have to get myself together and finish off some things I cut out last
summer, then I want to do a quilt top. Don't see any major sewing
events like a wedding coming up this year so maybe I will get it done.
JT> I will look forward to hearing from Rachel. It looks like your
JT> girls know how to please you. ONce my 'Daughter of love' [then my
JT> DIL] game me another craft kit. I told her that if she got me one
JT> more kit, she must also provide me with a wall to hang it on as all of
JT> mine were
JT> full. She just laughed.
We did talk to Rachel on Christmas; she will continue at Toys R Us until
she moves in Feb. Hopefully the hours will be more reasonable and she
will have a chance to get together with you; I'd like her to show you
the wedding pictures so you can see the big sewing project.
Both of my girls have grown up with me sewing, stitching or other
crafting so they do know how to make mom happy. Rachel got me a cross
stitch book last year for mother's day, one of the last holidays she
knew she would spend with us. My walls probably aren't as full as
yours; I have to get a lot of things framed and hung. We do have hung
my thimble collection, plates from Germany and some of my needlework but
there are a lot of bare spaces yet.
Have a good new year yourself; hope you get done all you'ld like to.
Catch you later,
Ruth
