I'm more into audio and telecommunications wiring, so when I made my comments 
there on connectors I was talking more about that type of stuff, rather
than Network wiring which I'm not an expert in..  I know that choosing a
good connector is especially impotrtant for fiber transmission applications
as you get a high degree of signal reflection from connectors as opposed to
wireline communications where impedance discontinuities are somewhat less

viewed on a TDR.
