CH>Alan, have you got on ESS 's web site. I forgot thier url,
I did, thanks... www.esstech.com (I think!)
Unfortunately, the ESS688 driver from there refuses to install (just like
the same-named driver on the NT 4.0 CD-ROM), and the ESS1868 driver I tried
on my desktop installed, but only worked w. 8-bit WAV samples... 16-bit
files just made noise.
Luckily, on the desktop, I was able to swap the card for a SB16PnP, which
installed and worked without any problems under both W95 and NT... I'm
afrad I'm stuck with the card (the ES688) in the notebook.
