Really? Oh dear, I'd better go back and check the docs, although I've never
had any complaints from the receiving end of my contacts. Not that I often
send long messages, but it's nice to include a news article or bulletin
in a message, sometimes.

Yes... I LOVE Bluewave, and used it before my point days. My BOSS now gets
ng's but I have to request them, and she manually 'points' them my way. As
I've said before, I've been very fortunate with my Boss nodes. I've had two,
the first one decided to quit being a node, and referred me to the second
one. I've been doing the bulk of my email (via netmail), echos, and
newsgroups through fido for years. It's worked beautifully, and it's so easy
to take the hard work and generosity that the fido hobbyists do for granted.

So you say that you do NOT have netmail access, then? I guess I'm using the
terms email and netmail to mean the same.

Bluewave was great for the offline mail stuff, but it still requires manual
dialing and downloading/uploading mail packets, right? Unless, one is good
at writing automated scripts for dialing bbs's...
I called about two or three different bbs's with it daily, since different
bbs's carried different echos, and it worked nicely. What I really like
about BW is that it allows me to load the full-blown version of WordPerfect
5.1 as my editor.... very very cool! With PPoint, I use the WP ascii editor
that is included with WP 6.0, which is still quite nice.

Are you on the Point echo? There was a thread started some time ago by
someone claiming to have configured BlueWave to work with his point system.
I don't recall the details but I remember not being too impressed with the
'workaround.' Perhaps I'm not techno-literate enough to set it up.

ooh... consider that tagline stolen :-)
I enjoyed your post,
