WD>JS>a 180gr JHP. I'm wondering if a 180gr solid would be too penetrating
for
WD>JS>something like a backwoods backup. Something for wild pig, bear, elk.
WD>JS>What do you think? 158gr JHP sounds a bit light in .357...
WD> You're right about the 158gr bullet being light for ferral pig.
WD> I use a 200 gr round nose bullet cast 60/40 soft lead and lynotype

Anything like that available commercially? I'd prefer using a JHP, but
no one makes a 200gr JHP or FP. Too bad.
WD> I slow it down to about 1250 fps by using

WD> hunt but don't miss, these animals are faster than you think.
I think I'd go for the 12ga with hard cast slugs for those pigs, I grew
up around farms.
WD> we had a man cut last year that almost lost his leg due to
infection.
Yuck.
WD> them for the freezer and hunted them wild and a head shot works
best.
Point well taken. I think those hard cast and sharp shouldered Brenneke
slugs will be just about perfect. Now all I need is a semi-auto with a
3" chamber (as opposed to my 2 3/4" 870) so I can use the 1 3/8 ounce
slugs instead of the 1 1/8 ounce.
þ SLMR 2.0 þ Cape Buffalo are just feral pigs on steriods...
