You know of course I was grateful Ed.
One of the monitors lasted long enough for me
to scout up another before it quit and the
Practical Peripherals modem has seen hard service
without fail.
Right now it appears Verizon has changed it's
negotiation protocols again so my software modem no longer works.
I'd be offline without that modem, well for all purposes as I'd have
to run the 486 with 14,400 and Win 3.1 again.
