Texas has 27 refineries, compared to CA's 21 refineries. Texas has more
refineries than anywhere else in the world. TX also shares some output of
LA's 16 refineries, as do many of LA's neighbors. CA, OTH, has nearly
three times (22.1 million) as many registered cars as does Texas (7.7
million). Even Florida has more (8.9 million) registered vehicles than
Texas. Yet, Texas is 2nd in population to California.
