Hiya Bob ... -=> Quoting Bob Ackley to Peter Coggon <=- BA> A teaspoon of vinegar per quart of drinking water seems to keep fleas BA> and most ticks at a distance. When Buddy joined us earlier this year I BA> had to remove several ticks from him until he'd ingested enough vinegar BA> to give them the message. Thanks for that one. I don't usually doctor up Russell's drinking water, but I shall give it a try. Right now he is just over a shampoo that is made from Oatmeal. I noted his skin in the fur was flaking, and not so now after that little discovery ,...thanks to mum. Now he is just itching, and whether or not this is after shampoo itch or perhaps diet...well I changed the dry meal and also his meat to lamb and rice. BA> BTW there's a neat little device called 'Ticked Off' for removing BA> ticks, it looks like BA> a deep measuring spoon with a deep vee cut in the scoop end; just BA> slide the vee under the tick as far as it'll go and rock it back and BA> out the thing comes, doesn't seem BA> to hurt the dog. Costs about two bucks. I have looked for ticks and found what I thought was one....it was a real dig session, but the old boy didn't mind it. Scared the whatever out of me, when he started bleeding, and out came the First Aid kit. For some reason I have not seen too many tick here in Ontario, And I wonder if it is the fir trees they don't like or something. I used to get them in my hair all the time in Indiana. oh well.... gotta run .... write anytime Bob. Peter ...
