CH>As a beginning diver, I am looking for suggestion on which type
CH>of regulator to purchase. I am not looking for anything that is
CH>extravagant or top of the line. I am looking for one that is
CH>basic, inexpensive, reliable, and will last for many yearrs to
CH>come.
This is a popular question in this echo, and also one of the
toughest to answer. My standard recommendation is to purchase
the best that you can afford as you're buying LIFE SUPPORT
equipment. Several of the dive magazines (Rodale's Scuba Diving
is probably the best in this case) write articles each year
on the best equipment to purchase within a particular price range.
You might want to check a local library or your nearest scuba shop
for a back copy of that issue.
Beyond that, I'd say stick with the name brands since they're
the easiest to get serviced.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
