I have two coffee makers.  A Krups, which rewuires a #4 cone filter, and a
Hamilton Beach Carafe-less that uses a Mr. Coffee-type basket filter.  I
like either one, but both overheat the water during the brewing cycle,
unlike a Bunn.  Bunn has it down to an art.  Just too darn expensive.
