I was an employee at a Chevy dealership back then and bought a used truck
with 9,000 miles on it. The used car manager told me that the muffler was
blown and that it would be replaced by GSD. When the GM rep looked at it,
he said it wasn't their responsibility because of the way it blew. I told
him what the manager told me and even though this conversation took place
in front of the Service manager, not even he took up for me. I never did
any favors for him after that incident. That same truck was involved in a
class-action suit against GM, and while the attorneys involved made out
like bandits, all I got from it was a $200 off certificate towards my next
purchase of a new truck. I tore it up.

RW>RN> You've seen the LS7?

RW> Yes...it's an awesome performer. Corvette's are turning low 11s off the
RW> street. The 2009 Camaro will have the LS2, a 400hp, 400ft/lb torquer from
RW> 6L.

I think they outrun Porches.

RW> I ported the heads on my girlfriend's 61 Corvette and the heads on my 63
RW> Corvette with a drill motor and a carbide cutter. I learned from those
RW> two and switched to an air powered die grinder.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that we also did that to the heads, intake
manifold and exhaust manifolds.

RW>RN> Thanks, but I'll pass. I'm gonna see if I can get my daughter's
RW>RN> husband to do that. I don't bend as easily as I once did. (-:

RW> I'll bet that Lincoln isn't going to be that easy to change the core.

That's probably why the dealer wants over $500 to R&R it.

RW>RN> They didn't accept your explanation, huh?

RW> There was no excuse to be out after curfew...I was only 16.

Let's see... I did that when I was 17 and got back home after filling up on
Krystal burgers and seeing a movie which was followed by a "sneak
preview" midnite movie. I got back home about 02:00, but I had a key
to the house and I didn't hear a harsh word from my mother the next
morning.

RW>RW>> No AC?

RW>RN> In the trailer? Yes. In the car, no. And it was twenty degrees
RW>RN> outside.

RW> The trailer being too warm, turn on the AC and save the gas.

Huh? Are we talking about the same thing? It was nice inside, but one of
the propane tanks ran out and I had to go outside to switch to the spare.
That's when I decided to get in my car and go to Shoney's. Remember, the
heater core in the car was blocked to keep anti-freeze from leaking inside
on the carpet. Really terrible-smelling fumes.

Regards,

Roger
