The first situation suggests auric viewing. Particularly if the blue
"shadow" moves when the teacher does. Otherwise it is probably a
physical sight abberation.
The second might do so. The aura around the head is usually easier to
see than the rest of the body. Having physical sight tiredness
actually *helps* clairvoyant sight. Another way is to put your
physical eyes slightly out of focus. This often assists psychic sight.
