From: Richard B. I'm looking for new backup software as my vendor was bought out by another company and I'm uncertain of their future. Anyhow I need to backup my main file server and my Domino server, with bare-metal restore capability. With something like Veritas I would have to get an agent (I know Geo!), but I was wondering if something like: http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATISWin/ would be worth considering? Looks like they offer tape support now. We are actually going to imagining software for our workstation backups now and I thought I should rethink what I'm doing on the servers. IOW, what would be the advantages/disadvantages of using imaging vs. traditional tape backup software? FYI the new tape driver is LTO2.
