so you can't send in the update with a blank for that field and have it cleared out?

i've seen similar in the past when i was sending rules files to the
echolist... with the troubles that i had getting them saved over there
properly, i just stopped sending them but was unable to remove the filename
from the records... when the old files were purged from the echolist
system, their names weren't removed from the database records... and there
were problems with the way it saved the rules files to a disk file... it
didn't use the rules file named in the update... it created one out of the
echotag and if it was longer than eight characters, then it really got
errrrgly... that was all with another echolist keeper, though... i've not
attempted it with your service...
