What AOL did about 3-4 months ago is to block as many dynamically 
assigned IP addresses as possible, including cable modems.  Their reason 
is to force everyone to use the standardized mail relays.  This will 
help a little in the war against Spam and allow them to virus scan mail 
at the source (if they choose to do so).  Folks folks like me, running 
their own mail servers, you need to route the aol.com domain through 
your upstream SMTP relay.  The rest you can send directly.  The other 
option is to get a static IP address and make sure they remove it from 
the dynamic list provided to RBL and others.
