subject: Christian Persecution In San Diego

As the Bible clearly predicts, and as many Bible-believing Christians
already know, the time is coming, and perhaps has already begun, when we
will be hated, persecuted, and even killed, by the non-believing world.
Consider the following verses:

"But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you,
delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before
kings and rulers for my name's sake. And it shall turn to you for a
testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what
ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your
adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be
betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some
of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men
for my name's sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your
patience possess ye your souls."
Luke 21:12-19, KJV

"If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye
were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of
the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world
hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not
greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute
you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these
things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him
that sent me."
John 15:18-21, KJV

"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer
persecution."
2 Timothy 3:12, KJV

Persecution has already been a fact of life for many Christians who live in
non-Christian countries, such as the Middle East, for example. As I pointed
out not so long ago, the population of Christians in the Middle East has
been dwindling for many years, due to hatred and prejudice against them,
death threats, economic hardship, etc.

But to many people, the idea that Christians may some day receive the same
kind of treatment in the so-called "Christian" USA is unthinkable.

Well, think again, folks, because it has been happening for years, except on
a much smaller scale. As I explain in my articles, over the years, we have
had court cases dealing with school prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, the
phrase "In God we trust", Ten Commandment monuments, etc., which have all
been promoted by a small vociferous, anti-Christian minority. There have
also been church bombings, and other acts committed against American
Christian believers.

Just when you thought that it couldn't get any worse, or more ridiculous,
along comes this incident in San Diego.

I was just reading a news article called "Couple - County Trying To Stop
Home Bible Studies" on a San Diego news site, which you can access here:

http://www.10news.com/news/19562217/detail.html

A condensed version of this same article, with a few other quotes, can be
found on the Fox News site at this URL:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,522637,00.html

It seems that a certain San Diego County official is demanding that a
Christian couple stops holding Bible studies in their home, unless they are
willing to spend thousands of dollars in order to obtain the proper permit.
It doesn't matter that American citizens hold private gatherings in their
homes -- quite often where a dozen people or more will attend -- for
birthday parties, post wedding parties, barbecues, sports events, card
games, etc.. The fact that these people happen to be Christians, makes their
activities illegal; at least according to San Diego County officials.

I say "Hogwash!". What about Americans' right to freely exercise their
religion WITHOUT interference from the government? Or is the US Constitution
and the Bill of Rights null and void in San Diego County?

Thus, I find this incident totally outrageous, unwarranted, and a poor
reflection on San Diego County officials. I hope that an apology is
forthcoming to this Christian couple.

What I also find interesting is that for decades now, San Diego County has
been a hotbed for so-called "cult deprogrammers".

Think about it.
