First up, has anyone tried the DSpell spelling checker macro by
Dave Monksfield? It's an alternative interface, looking like:
------------------------ backgrnd.txt -------------------1--.---- words --2--
Lofting: On developed worlds, beanstalks, launch loops, |spacewhales
laser launching and spacewhales are common. On new worlds |Troq
like Troq Anv, drop bodies and lofting are the norm. Drop |Anv
bodies are simple vessels that are dropped from orbit, |ablating
their heat shields ablating, parachutes floating them to |photovoltaics
It presents all the possibly misspelled words at once; if you glance at
it and see that none are really misspelled, you can simply hit Escape
right away, without having to wade thru the possible misspellings
individually. DSpell also allows editing outside of the words it
cites, in case you spot some other mistake when checking. Very nice.
Problem is that it only loads SEMWARE.LEX, *not* PERSONAL.LEX nor
USER.LEX, so it neither recognizes individual words one might use,
nor lets you add more to your personal dictionaries. Is anyone up
to getting DSpell to load those dictionaries, as SpellChk does?
The DSpell and SpellChk macros are both hyper-complex, over 14k
compiled, and porting features from one to the other is beyond me.
Finally, another odd key ShowKey doesn't recognize,
, which shows up as:
