If I find something I can't do myself, then I call in the troops.
Most things that I've needed done, I've done it myself.
That included fixing the VCR, stereo, doing home renovations, etc.
The only thing I don't do myself is fix the car (which is quite
difficult with today's cars...20 years ago was a different story).
DP> When I taught at University, I used to tell my students,
DP> "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance!"
Well, I know a lot about a lot of things. Electronics, mechanics,
chemistry, computers, programming, and music. ;)
I'm a dabbler.

The other side of the coin is paying someone else $150 for a
program that I'd use only once in my lifetime.
As well, I've kept code snippets from all my programs from over
the years. It took me less than an hour to sew them together to
have a working program equivalent to the Foxbase program.
Someone said that I should be charging $50 an hour...that vs. the
cost of the decompiler $150, plus my time to fix any bugs in the
Foxbase program.
DP> You are modifying a program for personal use? Disregard my
DP> comments above.
As I already said, I can't charge myself. ;)
