Hi Kathy! It was good hearing from you.
I was at AEB from March 6 to September 27, 1973. I guess I was coming as
you were going ha! Maybe I was one of those persons you were avoiding ha!
Yes, it is hard to believe it was so long ago.
I couldn't agree with you morre! A dog isn't for everyone! The same can be
said for a cane. We should accept and respect one another's choice since
dogs and canes have unique advantages. Your choosing a dog for your
mobility aid fits your lifestyle as a cane fits mine. I have become more
tollerant of dog users through the years. I admire the bond between the
dog and person. I have dated women with dogs and during our travels, we
became quite a team. She and her dog were able to find familiar objectives
with relative ease. I was able to trail wallls, fences, or the outside of
buildings to locate stairs going down as well as doorways. This team effort
between us worked quite nicely. She would leave me in the dust when we
traveled,
but it worked out nicely overall. I could write a book! I especially
enjoyed her dog when it was off harness. It is far more important to focus
on how we regard one another rather than fuss about which mobility aid we
prefer. I'm certain you would agree with that.
I hope spring has arrived where you are. I think it is finally here.
I'll be looking forward to hearing from you when you have a chance to post
a message my way. Take care and have a great day!
... Dogs come when you call. Cats have answering machines.
