The Crown Macro series are great amps. There are better sounding amps
out there, but not at those power levels; you just can't beat the
value of those beasts! There are more powerful Macros out, but the
2400 is plenty for all but the most power-hungry cabinets. Turbos
are good cabs; I use 6 TMS-4s, and though they are over 10 years old
they still kick ass! The processors that go with the Turbos will not
hinder him, as they are designed to process and protect the cabs.
He certainly wouldn't want to run Turbos *without* the processors!
Carver amps are junk; they just don't have the rails!

Any *comparable* cabinet will set him back just as much as the Turbos.
My choice would be Meyer, but who can afford those? Take care.
... If it's professional.............it ain't Peavey!
