There is a person selling a CD-ROM with about 100 meg of Atari 8-bit
software on it, that he collected off CompuServe, Genie, and others, he
charges $55.00 for this CD....
First of all, you can NOT hook up a CD-ROM to aqn Atari 8-bit.
Second, you must have an IBM/ST/MAC/Amiga etc., to read the files then
null modem/transfer them to an Atari 8-bit.
Third, a blank CD-R costs at the most $6.99, average cost $5.00...
Fourth, I cna buy a 680 Meg CD for my IBM for only $19.95, or LESS!!
Hey, if you ask me, charging Atari 8-bit users $55.00 for a piece of
media they can't even use, is RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!!!
If I had the $55.00, I'd buy it, just to run off copies and sell for
$10.00 each to all the Atari users out there, not $55.00, when the Atari
8-bit user would have to find a SysOp of another platform with a CD
Drive to let them download it, or at least someone to copy the files for
them to ATARI disks using ATARI IO for the IBM, etc....
I've NEVER sold my software for more than $25.00.........
Seems Atari and Others are the ones RIPPING YOU OFF with their HIGH
PRICES!!!!!
