As some of you may (and most of you may not) be aware, I have ten dogs. All but one black lab mixes, and all but one of those are blood relatives (father and seven pups - that are 2.5 years old now). The one that is not a lab was attacked by the others (after six months in the 'family') Saturday night. Had I not arrived home when I did they'd have killed her. As it is the vet bill may go well into four digits. As I type this she's been at the vet's since yesterday (Sunday) afternoon and is scheduled for surgery today. The issue is that once she has recovered I have to find her another home. I can't keep her with the others any longer, and I only have one kennel enclosure. She's black and white, a bit smaller than an adult lab, 35-40 pounds, and appears to be a heeler/lab mix, or a border collie/heeler/lab mix (somebody dumped her out here in the sticks six months ago and I took her in, so I have no idea as to her ancestry). She appears to be 2-3 years old. Anybody have any suggestions? Anybody have a clue why, after six months or slightly more, the other dogs would suddenly attack and try to kill her? --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/300 34/999 53/558 90/1 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 633/260 262 267 712/848 800/432 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
