Hello Bj”rn,
BF> There's been rather silent here lately from our US fellows. How come?
Most of us have been kind of busy playing in the streets.
BF> It seems like there is a severe turning point coming up in the USA. Is it
BF> only to us reading from the outside that this seems to be the case?
The latest polls show the president having an unfavarable rating
of 48%. Those numbers will not change for the better between now and
election. If there even is an election.
BF> This is how I see it, how do you see it?
The president ordered active military to open fire on peaceful
protesters (mostly women and children) on church grounds. This was
unconstitutional and possibly illegal. Why did he do this? Because
he wanted to create a photo-op for himself so he could get as many
evangelicals to come to his aid. The joint chiefs of staff went
along with his order, even though do so violated their own oath
of enlistment.
The president violated his own oath of office, and the joint chiefs
of staff violated their oath of enlistment. Commissioned officers and
buck privates alike violated their oath by carrying out the illegal
orders of a president gone mad.
The president is claiming authority to do as he pleases by citing
an act from the early 19th century (The Insurrection Act of 1807).
His own warped interpretation, as only he could interpret it. If
the military and police forces continue to go along with him, he
will be in effect a dictator with no check on his power. Just like
Il Duce (notice Trump's habit of folding his arms, same as Benito
Mussolini).
BF> Trump knows that as soon as he is out of office,
C'mon, man! Get real!
He's a lifer, just like Putin and his Korean pal!
BF> he will face a flood of indictments from the Southern District of New York
BF> (and perhaps other jurisdictions) for money laundering, bank fraud, tax
BF> fraud, and obstruction of justice. He knows he will go to jail. He will do
BF> everything in his power to avoid that fate.
You're dreamin'. No former president has ever been put in prison.
Not even former Confederate President Jefferson Davis, who was merely
detained without charges for an indefinite time, without ever being
put on trial.
Trump knows he cannot win any election that is contested fairly.
So why play fair, or play at all? His only hope is to either get
untold numbers of Americans so sick that he can issue an executive
order postponing the presidential election indefinitely (or until
further notice). Or have all military and police forces in the US
put the entire country in lockdown. Depending on his mood.
Remember, he did declare himself as being a wartime president.
And no president has ever lost his bid for a second term during
a time of war. So we know this one is in the bag.
BF> If he is defeated in the upcoming election, he may simply refuse to leave
BF> office.
He already knows he has no chance to win. So why play?
Much better to declare victory and move on.
BF> He will say that the election was rigged, and he will refuse to concede.
Donald Trump has never apologized. And he has also never conceded
anything to anybody. That much is a given.
He will claim the election is rigged long before postponing
indefinitely the election he has no chance to win. That way,
nobody will be able to falsely accuse him of cheating.
BF> What then?
It is not who votes that counts. It is who counts the votes that
counts. If the president says the vote was rigged, it was rigged.
Regardless of who voted, or counted the votes.
BF> With the Senate having already relinquished their power to hold him
BF> accountable, who will remove him from office?
The president will claim the vote was rigged. He will also have
full control of the military and police throughout the country.
Oops. He already has full control of the military and police due
to The Insurrection Act of 1807.
BF> It would be up to the Secret Service and/or the military to enforce the
BF> results of the election. Would they?
The secret service is part of the Department of the Treasury.
The president already controls the military and the police.
And all the money being held by the Department of the Treasury.
The secret service does not work for free, and gladly provides
the president security detail.
The joint chiefs of staff went along with his orders for the military
to open fire on women and children on church grounds. Had the military
been using live ammo it would have been one bloody mess.
All this despite the oath they took in order to do their jobs.
BF> And if he wins the election, his installation as king is secure.
What do you mean "if he wins the election"? He already did, in 2016!
Yes, with help from Russia. But he still won. Even though his opponent
got the most votes. Jimmy Carter calls him an illegitimate president.
So do others. But illegitimate or not, the orange stain remains.
BF> It may be the last real presidential election you ever have.
At least a king is answerable to God.
