Dear Donna,
I once lucked into a whole barrel of raw bees wax. Here are my
solutions to your problems:
First gently heat the wax and much of the garbage will go to the
bottom. Pour off the clearer from the top.
Next, secure [preferably with rope or wire, as it will gat hot] a
piece of cheese cloth over a can or other heat tolerant vessel. Allow a
sag in the cloth. Reheat the wax. pour into the vessel.
There will still be some fine stuff, so if you want it still
cleaner, heat a fairly large vessel of water [this is the stage that you
can bleach it if you wish- but get instructions from me before you do]
and place a chunk of wax into the water. Be very sure that you have
much more water than wax!!!!! When the wax has become liquid, turn off
the heat and allow to solidify. Break or pull out the wax [you don't
need to get it all out] and repeat with the next chunk.
I hope that this helps.
Shalom, the Lily Lady
The reason i know what not to do, is mostly because i did.
