It's been mentioned that it detected "Valen DNA". Since Valen was a human who went through a species transformation, exactly how specific would the machine be to his sequence versus pretty much any human? It's not like there were any other humans around when Valen arrived. Not until he started having a family and who knows how hybrid they were - The triluminary might have needed to be very inspecific about human DNA. Which brings up the question - Did they apply the triluminary to any other humans? Not that I know of in In the Beginning nor The Gathering. And who's to say it doesn't detect a soul? There are species quite capable of making such a device. If the soul hunters can make a suction machine that works on grand souls, some species could make one that detects the sort of soul soul hunters would want. It could be typical Minbari chauvanism to think that equals a Minbari soul. --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32* Origin: Time Warp of the Future BBS - Home of League 10 (1:14/400) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/300 34/999 106/1 120/228 123/500 134/10 140/1 222/2 226/0 SEEN-BY: 249/303 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1417 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 393/11 396/45 633/104 260 267 690/682 734 712/848 800/432 SEEN-BY: 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 109 200 2905/0 @PATH: 14/400 5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
