0n (27 Sep 07) Mike Roberts wrote to Cindy Haglund... > MR> Hi Cindy... > Well! Hi there stranger! :) Where the heck have you been? MR> Hey! Well it is a public forum. I'll Just say, My father has been very MR> ill for almost the last Year. We have become his sole caregivers. MR> Almost lost him a couple of times, but he is a stubborn cuss MR> and thankfully we still have him around a bit longer. It has been a MR> rough time on him and all of us. But things are looking up a bit. I MR> will say, I have pretty much lost my Faith in Dr.s thoough..... I understand. And yes, been there too. Please feel free to email me sometime. You've got my addy on the bbs. Maybe it will help to serve as a distraction. You need that. MR> Anyway, back to topic.. > MR> pitbull fly to the back of the truck and hit the tailgate. I murmered > MR> truck, it would help a lot with the dogs safety. > REPORT THIS PERSON TO THE SPCA. If you get his licence plate again... > find out who he is. MR> Sometimes You just don't always think of these things as they are MR> happening. I do guarantee if it happens again, I definitely would. Nod. It's ilke the gal who wanted to say something when seeing a young mother with a newborn sitting very close to an amp at a concert. :(.... the what to do doesn't kick in til later. I think our emotions are such at the moment we can't think ahead. That happens. ..... > Abusing a dog, especially a high power breed as pit bull, well caluse > this dog to become the very sort of dog pit bulls are said to be > "famous for". MR> Did You hear about the one down in your old area, the pitbull killed MR> the 6 year old, down in Bath as the kid was feeding him. Sad.. Yeah. :( And you know it's not the dog. It's the owners. If the owner of this kind of breed is not the leader of the pack ; iif he or she or the family acts fearful around this dog (0r any dog but mostly the powerful breeds which tend to be more assertive by nature) - the dog responds in an aggressive way toward any strangers ; protecting his pack. HE is the leader of... :( And he shouldn't be. ..... > You have heard of people who train dogs, usually the power breeds > (because they're big and powerful not because they're naturally > aggressive because they're not, HUMANS make them that way!).... to > fight. They do this by deliberately abusing them as puppies. :( MR> This makes me sick!! Can You say Michael Vick? Sure You Can! 8) Me too. I saw the news . Lots of 'comic's on that one too. One with Lassie taking a leak in the well he's crying for help from. > This sort of behavior is not acceptable- and it's not the dogs fault. > Its the owners. MR> I'd have to agre with that.. I still get edgy though, like with the 6 MR> year old I mentioned above. However I have to keep in mind those MR> people did not raise that dog, so they did not know how thhe dog was MR> raised. So he was euthanized the night after he killed the kid. You can tell how a dog was raised by his / her body language ; how they respond to you. Any dog will be "subissive(relaxed) calm with an assertive calm human. Fear create agression. And you know you can't even pretend to be calm around a dog. They can always tell. MR> Have a good One! You too and keep in touch! Cindy ... Forget all your troubles.
