What did we find out and when did we find it out?

Did we find out that it was Valen's DNA the Triluminary reacted to
during season 1, or did we only know that it was DNA associated with
the Minbari?  (Or, as they put it, the soul?)

My recollection is that during season one, all we knew was that it
reacted to Sinclair and from that the Grey Council figured that their
"missing" souls were being reborn in Human bodies, and that Sinclair
simply had +a+ Minbari soul.  It wasn't until later, maybe in "In The
Beginning", that the scene was filmed that stated that what they
discovered was Valen's soul in him.

For the Religious Caste, and Delenn in particular who was looking for
an excuse her people would accept to stop the war, simply finding any
"Minbari soul" in a Human was sufficient to stop the fighting.
