LB>I don't know if a super 80 is the same as a compact 80, but I do know
LB>that I recommend the compact 80 if you can find them. I have 4 made by
LB>Catalina and I searched long and hard to find the last one. The compact
LB>80's are neutral buoyant when empty, meaning you can take a quick 4 lbs
LB>off your weight belt (compared to the standard 80's) and meaning they
LB>don't float out of place when they're getting low on air. You can get
LB>them filled to their slightly higher working pressure (3,300 psi) just
LB>about anywhere in the world, including places that can't fully fill the
LB>high pressure steel tanks.
Having dived with the compact 80's for 3 weeks at Riding Rock Inn at San
Salvador, Bahamas, I can agree with you! I don't understand why the
standard 80 is used at all compared to the compact 80.
