-> Your point, however, is that only Dole stands a chance of defeating
-> Clinton.
Yup!
-> The thing you have to remember is that it's darned near
-> impossible for the Democrats to regain control of Congress.
I wish I were as sure of that as you are.
-> That being the case, we have to ask who will be more dangerous to our
-> freedom *in combination with a Republican Congress*.
->
-> Slick will be opposed at every step, but Republicans will not be
-> eager to embarass a Republican president.
Four obvious possibilities here:
A: Clinton with a Democratic Congress
B: Clinton with a Republican Congress
C: Dole with a Republican Congress
D: Dole with a Democratic Congress
A is the obvious nightmare. **IF** Clinton gets re-elected, AND gets a
Democratic Congress, we are TRULY and ROYALLY **FUCKED**!
For that reason, I prefer to vote against the Democrats in both the
Presidential and Congressional races.
D, of course, is unlikely in the extreme.
As for B & C, I honestly don't know which would be worse. I think it
unlikely that the Republicans would just roll over and rubber stamp
whatever Dole wants, the way the Democrats have for THEIR presidents for
the last 40 years. I figure it's 50/50 the Congress will drive the
agenda, with Dole having to go along with Gingrich's and Lott's agenda.
I concede that we are both speculating. There's no real way of knowing
until it happens.

John
