If your friend is having trouble on a consistant basis with Windows 95, he's 
setting it up wrong.  It's been running on my machine since it was first 
released, and I am quite satisfied with it.  I skipped Windows 3.1, and went 
from DOS 5.0/Desqview to DOS 6.2/Desqview to Win95.
I'd be highly suspicious of "operator malfunction" in your friend's case.
