   I heard about one state where the killing drugs were about to expire, and
they rushed to kill as many as possible before the "best before" date. Didn't
know there actually was something like that.

   What an awful world to live in. The society uses it's monopoly on violence
to actually, legally murder it's own citizens? Yikes...  :(

   Well, to be honest, it wasn't until 1921 that Sweden abandoned the death
penalty in peace time and 1973(!) in war time. The last execution here was by
guillotine in November 1910.
