For me, it was the other way around.  I regularly have a banana each
night at home.  However, on our trip they were not always readily
available and I ended up not having my regular dose.  About the fourth
or fifth night out I was awakened with a very severe cramp in my calf
muscle.  Then I started using some of my wife's potassium pills, and did
not have a recurrence.
