Hi Bettie!
What kind of crafty stuff are you doing for Christmas time?
I'm working on a wreath made of Bedford Bendable Ribbon,
the metallic wired ribbon. It's turning out quite nice and
I am very pleased with it. This one's for me! I give a lot
of the stuff I make away, but this I am determined to keep,
to hang on the front door as a decoration.
It is made of the inner hoop of a wooden 12" embroidery hoop
set, wrapped with the red metallic wired ribbon, and then
you place 7 large poinsettias around the ring and wire them
on, then spot glue them with the glue gun to keep them from
slipping. These poinsettias are made of the metallic ribbon
too, and very shiny. You make a bow of the ribbon also, it's
1 1/4" ribbon. The poinsettias have the traditional red
petals, gold stamens in the middle, and green leaves. The
bow is made of gold ribbon. After the bow is wired and glued
on, then you put a hanger on it of the "ribbon" too. This
ribbon isn't like most cloth ribbon, it's a metallic plastic
substance which is wired along the edges and stays bent the
way you bend it. It's really neat!
We have one of those security porch lights with the motion
detector on it, and I will leave the light turned on so it
will reflect off this metallic ribbon during the holidays,
so it will look pretty from the street. I think it will
be a stunning but very simple decoration. It will sure be
easy to take down a put away, much easier than strings of
lights which all the neighborhood seems to put up.

Wendy
