Hello Vern
VF> I have had horrid success with Tiger Barbs, and no longer suggest them to
VF> anyone. They are unable to eat properly, without losing control of their
VF> air-bladder. They eventually die trying to avoid floating to the top.
VF>
VF> However, a more edumikated fish-type in the area has found the loss rate
to
VF> drop significantly running a slightly brackish, slightly acidic setup
ith
VF> barbs.
You haveto adujust the condition to suit the fish, and keep fish that like
similare conditions together. While this will mean you can keep a spcies
hat
likes acid-brackish with a alkine/salt free preferer, it is the price you
ay.
The conditions preferdd by my gold fish would kill the angelfish in the next
tank. Can't have a pleco in with the goldys. Plecos don't like the salt the
goldys thrive with. It is best to pick a fish, siutthe envoriment to siut
t,
and find other fish that prefer that.
