Hi everyone,
I'm drawing-up some ideas for a BBS, which I'd like to run under Linux, but
I'd love to throw the ideas to you guys and see if you have suggestions.
First and foremost I want to stay on LInux if possible. I'm looking at Irex
and Synchronet. I want newsgroups, IRC Chat (hosting plus connecting to
other servers like irc.freenode.net), and pop3 access. When i say Pop3, I
want to port my personal mail through the BBS so I can check it all from one
place. I also would like to subscribe to many of the echo nets, like Fidonet
among others.
Can Irex a Syncrhonet on Linux do all this? If not, what other apps owuld
you guys suggest?
My reason for setting-up this board is I mainly use IRC, Newsgroups, message
boards, and email when online -- so if I can get it all in one place (a BBS),
then it'll sure make my life easier plus be a fun project to keep-up. If
others are in the same boat as I and can use a similar system, then awesome!
Granted I might not open receiving pop3 messages to everyone, but all else is
open.
Anywho, gotta get. Thanks for any suggestions or comments... and take care.
