They're not trying to take the heat for Dole. They genuinely think gun 
control is a good idea. Demented? Sure, but these are the same folks who 
think social welfare, income redistribution, affirmative action, higher 
taxes and gutting the Social Security Trust Fund for current spending 
are good ideas.
