Hello Ed, RC>> I laugh at the notion people have when they call having AOL as RC>> having internet access. RC>> Its cyberspace dumbed down, thats what AOL is. MH> Not being any kind of an expert on such matters, I don't know why MH> you believe that. EK> For starters they hide there spammers IP's making it dificult to EK> track the origin. I could act like an idiot and say, "There are some things people such as yourself arent supposed to know." But I'll leave that to Ross. AOL offers access to the Internet. You can explore the Web from within AOL's interface or you can use other browsers. AOL also makes available to its members other areas which aren't available to non-subscribers. AOL has menus linking the subscriber to venues of special interest, such as finance, automotive, health, sports, games, etc. AOL can thus be seen as offering more than internet access. AOL has also been spending a lot of money and energy fighting spammers. They offer their subscribers means of filtering out spam and a process for filing complaints which helps identify and eliminate the worst offenders. I understand you've had problems because of the way that AOL responds to spammers. Ross says AOL is "cyberspace dumbed down." Ross doesn't appear to know what he's talking about. But that's not unusual. Ross also says he laughs "at the notion people have when they call having AOL as having internet access." So he's an idiot and a fool?
