In general the laws regurding parrina are related to their survivablity in
local waters. Fordia lives in FEAR of the suckers. They can survive in that
area. Maine, I wouldn't worry much.
The second factor is how firmly does the local government sit on sticks. The
more bluenoes the local government, the tighter the exotics laws, needed or
not. I have read exaples of laws intedned to restirce the ownership of
"dangrous animals" that would prohibit goldfish if enforced as written.
Most city officals have no idea what exotics are, never the less what htey
require in terms of care. Generally all it takes is some idiot that gets his
hands on a lion, aht gets loose, a "tough guy" that tired os the constant
are
a black mamba requires and tosses it out, alive. To create overly
estrictive
laws reguarding exotic pets.
Before you complain that it doesn't apply to fish, think again. Such laws
re
generally so blanket in navity, usually restricting pets to what the hend in
the sand council things pets are, egro cats and dogs, that even neons can get
forbidden.
The lesson is to keep a close eye on what your city council does, and be
prepared to educate them.
