>>> Part 1 of 2...

Hi Mike and Jeff ...again

-=> Quoting Mike Tripp to Jeff Snyder <=-

JS> Mike, please don't put words in my mouth. I never referred to the
JS> local police department, paramedics or firefighters as warmongers, so
 JS> please don't insinuate that I did.

MT> Then who were you referring to as warmongers? I quoted your words
MT> from your message...I didn't put them in your mouth.

Mike., Jeff never mentioned who the warmongers were. It was
a line of blessings for the peacmakers...etc. NO where was it
mentioned those professions that serve the civilian public.

JS> First, please tone down your language, as it is not appropriate
 JS> for this Christian echo.

MT> Excuse me...I thought I was replying to a Fidonet echo disseminating
 MT> troll-bait, not fundamentalist dogma.

He objected to your use of "donkey" or it's other 3 letter name.

MT> The truth is that while it may be technically possible to join at that
MT> young an age, since they are vocationally oriented, it is normally
MT> 16-18yrs old that that have already achieved much of what the Boy
MT> Scouts have to offer and have made some choice about future career
MT> direction that participate in Explorers.

Yes. But is this being done on a national basis?

MT> I guess you missed the point, in your hurry to censor my language.
MT> Neither the Boy Scouts nor the terrorists are confined to the
MT> continental USA. And those boys become the men who are your soldiers,
MT> policemen, firemen, paramedics, fellow congregation members, ministers,
 MT> rabbis, etc.

Good reply, as they are in reality Peacemakers. Thats the basis
of the movement to make a well rounded citizen with thinking powers.

MT> Boys must learn to be men...it doesn't just magically happen on a
MT> given birthday. The Boy Scouts assist in that department where the
MT> father figures are absent, unable, unqualified or unwilling. Providing
MT> information is not impressment into servitude. Insulation from
 MT> information is not enlightenment.

When you read before Lord Baden-Powell and his comments, and what was
then, your text above carrys weight Mike.

JS> Please also note that peaceful protest is a right given to the
JS> people to express grievances with the government.

MT> And what government has provided its people the right to peaceful
MT> protest without having first shed blood to earn the right to determine
MT> rights and then shed further blood to preserve the rights they
 MT> determined?

When they say "right" it is only a priveledge, and only given under
that which controls the government. Blood in the past. Other things
as no voting rights for Jews or women ...but this is the past Mike.

This further bloodshled is not working. Never has and never will
as the wheel of history so clearly shows. I have no problem with
protesters doing their thing, so long as it is orderly, and does
not interferre with others. They all startout peaceful and end
up with organizers taking another step when they know better, and
thus become violent. Some get injured and it should not have
been.

Many things have been done peaceful, and even countrys created
peacfully.

MT> Satan is in the eye of the beholder. Millions of Christians have
MT> managed to see past the paradox that would prevent them from serving
MT> their Lord and country simultaneously. Even conscientious objectors
MT> have found a role on a battlefield. Jesus will not forsake them.

I guess you mean serving in non-combat situations.

MT> Please continue to dream of the war-free world. It won't happen
MT> unless many more do. But please don't consider the fact that a group
MT> of Explorer scouts in a law-enforcement post would practice training
MT> exercises similar to those that law-enforcement officers practice
 MT> "outrageous".

I am glad you say a "group" ,so it is not endorsed by the Scouting
Movement. Sounds like some militart gone over the edge, with kids
..oooh yes teens and younge men getting on with guns and killing
terrorists and some real ideas in their uppers.

Outrageous. mmmm perhaps worth watching and noting who is taking
part. But then you said training exercises and ...that leaves the
question open as to what they are being taught?

Booogles the mind ....
