I haven't looked in a while but a good place to look is the Telnet BBS Guide.

http://www.telnetbbsguide.com

It lists close to 1000 BBSs. Most of them are available by telnet and a very
few are available by dial-up.

Of course that list only contains BBSs where the operator has taken steps to
get listed there. There are likely many, many others that haven't listed their
BBS there, not yet anyway.

BBSing is still very much a thing today.
