Not at all. Not even the flashiest graphics or editing capability make a
crappy game a good one. However, it can make a good game, like Doom or Duke,
a GREAT one. For a better idea, take a look at what other games were out
when Doom was originally released. How many of those are still around with
he
stature what Doom has? Very few.

Correction: It IS possible, but it's too damned much trouble, compared to
hooking a modem to a phone jack, dialing a number, and blasting away.

Twenty people is a bit crowded in Doom or Duke. The main question is:
yeah, you COULD hook together that many people on *either* system. But why
would you WANT to?

That isn't the point. Even if new levels are made for a ported game, once
ou
beat it, that's it. There is no more. Zip.
Yet, the original PC game just keeps on going. I've gotten my $50 worth out
Doom ][, much more really. If I had bought a console version, the game would
be on my trade pile by now.
In the end, it's probably a matter of opinion.
A PC is like a Swiss Army knife, it can do almost anything, but it can't do
any one thing real well. A console is specialized. It can play games very
well, but that's ALL it can do. The question of which one is better depends
n
what you want to do.
