This is one of the hardest things to teach humans about dogs.  THey're pack
animals, and they'll try to assert more powerful status in the pack if you
allow it.

My cure for jumping:  WHen the dog jumps, catch the front paws, squeeze
enough to cause discomfort, can be done without any real damage.  SOon the
dog will not jump on the person who does this to them.

Another thing I've always believed.  A few minutes later they've forgotten
that you were angry with them anyway, so you should forget it too as far as
giving of affection, but not immediately after corrective action.
