In the "Processes" window of Windows Task Manager, you can usually find
that annoying 'messenger' and stop the process. I do that with a couple of
those annoying programs, on boot up. Those programs are good, but I dont
care for annoying reminders popping up every few minutes.

Not me! I'll stick to XP for a while, then look for W7 to install.
