| subject: | Calling the dog |
HI all. Where are ya. Wake up! :) I don't usually read Heloise because nine times out of ten I find the 'hints' she receves are not enviornmentally friendly and or they don't make any sense at all . One lady wrote in about putting a dog's name on a tag... now yes you thought Heloise was about Household Hints? It's been getting weird lately. One lady wrote in pouring out her heart and soul over the loss of her husband but tries to make up for it by telling us about all the new hobbies she has found... Anyway back on topic here... this other hint I found erroneous and shame on Heloise for not correcting the woman IS topical to this echo. Here it is. The woman says we should have name tags on our dogs. If she finds a lost dog how will it come to her if she doesn't know the dogs name? OHMYFOG! I nearly fell out of my chair. Try this experiement folks. Cally our dog anything you want and note if it comes. I read somewhere too long ago to remember where, that dogs respond to the tone of our voice moreso than what we say. COME!!! Come here boy/girl...! hasa distcinct sound to it whether you add a name to it or not. Why just now I called my two dogs in from out back. I called them Here babies!!! come here sweeties!!! Come on in... And they did because it's COLD outside you see.. hehe. (And yes they had done their duties.) Cindy ...
