You still haven't figured it out yet, have you.  

Sauer's query is perfectly valid question towards anyone who claims 
such a book as the source of their belief system.  After all, the 
xians divide on the inerrancy of the 1 trVe bible.  

Ed'd refusal to answer either way calls his own belief system into 
question.  He claims to be a strong Mormon but he can't bring himself 
to defend his claimed strong beliefs.  

What it really comes down to is to whether Ed really is a Mormon.  He 
can't hande a basic affirmation of his own faith.
